Anti-CD45 (LCA) Antibody is designed to detect CD45/LCA (leukocyte common antigen). CD45 is expressed in mostnucleated cells from hematopoietic origin and is essential to regulate T and B cell antigen receptor signalling. Cluster of differentiation 45 (CD45), otherwise known as leukocyte common antigen (LCA), is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. Members of the PTP family control various cellular processes including: cell growth, oncogenic transformation, and cell differentiation. CD45 is a signalling molecule that is an essential regulator of T and B cell antigen receptor signalling. Anti-CD45 is a biomarker for the majority of lymphoid neoplasms and positively stains most nucleated cells of hematopoietic tissue origin. Certain types of neoplasms, such as Hodgkin’s lymphoma and some leukemias lack CD45 meaning that an absence of CD45 does not preclude the presence of lymphoid tumours.
