With summer winding down, it's time to plan for fall research projects. You'll need fetal bovine serum (FBS) if you have any cell culturing lined up. Our FBS inventory has never been more extensive. With several grades, specialty types, and heat-inactivated options, we've got what you need to optimize your cell culturing. Check out all our FBS options here.
Furthermore, our FBS continues to demonstrate its reliability through dozens of customer citations in published research. Two new studies have been published in the last month, which we'd like to highlight.
Image: Immortalized mouse microglia cultured using Neuromics FBS.
In the first paper, scientists at The Roskamp Institute published repetitive mild traumatic brain injury (r-mTBI) research using our heat inactivated premium USA origin FBS (cat. FBS001-HI). r-mTBIs can cause chronic neuroinflammation and microglia activation. The researchers cultured immortalized mouse microglia using our FBS to study the causes of the microglia activation after r-mTBIs along with a drug to treat the condition. Read the study here.
Bottom Image: Single-cell lipid levels in MSCs cultured with Neuromics FBS.
In the second publication, mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) were cultured using our premium imported fetal FBS (cat. FBS002). MSCs from different tissue sources, donors, and expansion levels can exhibit various levels of immunosuppressive response when used as a treatment for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The investigators used single-cell optical imaging coupled and single-cell spatial lipidomics to better understand the phenotypes of MSCs in immune response. Learn more here.
