TRA-1-60 (T cell receptor alpha locus) is a cell-surface protein involved in cell differentiation. Cell surface antigens are powerful tools for characterizing the function and expression of developmentally regulated cells during both embryogenesis and oncogenesis. This antibody reacts with the neuraminidase resistant form of the TRA-1-60 antigen that is expressed upon the surface of human teratocarcinoma stem cells (EC), human embryonic germ cells (EG) and human embryonic stem cells (ES). No immunoreactivity is seen with murine EC, EG or ES cells. |
