HeLa cell cultures were stained with Aurora B kinase antibody (green). Aurora B stains midzones in anaphase and midbodies between the two daughter cells during telophase. It is therefore a useful marker of dividing cells. Counterstained is our chicken polyclonal antibody against Vimentin, (red, CH22108). Blue is a DNA stain.
Left: Western blot analysis of Aurora B in HeLa cells. Blot of HeLa cells treated with 100ng/ml nocodazole for 18 hours was probed with Aurora B. The Aurora B monoclonal binds strongly to aurora B at 38 kDa. Right: Blot of recombinant human Aurora A, B and C were probed with MO22138. This antibody binds specifically to Aurora B. This is also consisted with the immunocytochemical staining of midzones and midbodies on HeLa cells.
