HEL 299 cells are human fetal lung fibroblast cells. HEL 299 cells were derived from embryonic lung tissue of a male in 1965. These cells are unique in being a diploid line having type A glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. It is recommended to culture these cells following the protocols described below.
